Thornbury Surfacing is an established business with over 40 years’ experience in the construction and surfacing of major Infrastructures including roads, car parks, sports pitches, playgrounds, footpaths, and domestic driveways.
We provide a myriad of surfacing solutions, and a diverse range of finishes including coloured tarmac, resin bound macadam and block paving. One of our Contracts Managers will be happy to provide a free no obligation quotation, along with advising and assisting you through all stages of design and installation.
Health and safety are a key consideration in all projects undertaken by Thornbury Surfacing, and key members in each of our teams are fully trained in this area. In addition, all our teams have members who have passed the latest Streetworks accreditation.
Formed in 1969, by ‘Uncle Norman’ and his brothers, originally as a haulage business. The company progressed from hauling sand & gravel to aggregates, quarried stone and tarmac.
In the 1985 Neil Blackmore joined the business to build the ‘tarmacking’ side. By 1990 Neil purchased the business, making Thornbury Surfacing a limited company in the year 2000. Thornbury is now moving into its 3rd generation as a family run business.

At Thornbury Surfacing, we provide high quality and flexible asphalt surfacing solutions to clients ranging from large multi-national corporations, government and local authorities and civil engineers to smaller local builder and domestic.
With a strong commitment to customer service, Thornbury Surfacing has earned a reputation for workmanship of the highest standards. We successfully administer contracts in both the commercial and Industrial sectors, procuring over 80,000 tons of bituminous material annually.
With our head office based in Foxham, near Chippenham and with our workforce being located throughout the Southwest, we are ideally situated for all major transport networks, enabling us to provide an efficient service to all clients Nationwide.
To accommodate the various size of contracts awarded to us, we have re-invested over £800,000 on plant and equipment over the last 2 years.
All machinery is state of the art, under 5 years old and rigorously maintained at our dedicated workshop. Our experienced maintenance staff provide round the clock backup for equipment on site. Plant certification can be supplied upon request in addition to our Health & Safety pack.
