Thornbury Surfacing assist DIY SOS Big Build team

In March 2017 the DIY SOS Big Build team started a 9 day project in Hartcliffe, Bristol. The aim was to bring 24 year old Ryan home from the specialist Hospital in Gloucester where he had spent the last 5 years.
After seeing the call for trades in the local press the team at Thornbury Surfacing applied to help without hesitation.
Colin Westbrook our Commercial Manager was invited to attend a pre-start meeting on site in February. It was agreed that we would extend the drop kerb and reinstate the footpath to allow better access to the driveway. The second phase of works saw our team install the asphalt binder course layer on the driveway ready for the granite grey resin surface course which gave the drive a superb finish.
The programme itself was aired on the 29th July 2017 on BBC 1.
